Exploring New Frontiers: Our Payload Innovations.

But before we get started, what does payload actually do?

Every year, payload designs, manufactures, and integrates a technical demonstration or scientific experiment into the rocket. We work with almost every other subteam in order to integrate the payload into the rocket. Airframe helps us make sure the payload will physically fit inside the rocket, while controls helps us trigger and disarm the payload via CAN bus as two examples. If this sounds like soemthing you’d be interested in, you can apply, or contact us, from the two links below!

At the heart of every successful mission lies the payload.

At McMaster Rocketry, we push the boundaries to deliver groundbreaking payloads that elevate our experiments and missions to new heights. Discover how our cutting-edge payload designs contribute to advancements in science and space exploration, and join us on our journey to redefine the possibilities of rocketry.

Who doesn’t like a good video…

This past year, the payload team designed a 2k/60 camera system to watch Luminis’ flight trajectory from a first person view. This was our first ever technical payload, and we’re already cooking up so much more for future years. Watch the video on the right to see what we recorded!
